Polilight PDTApplications

The image sequences provided are from our medical trial at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne Australia. The orange-red areas in the 'pre-light treatment' images, indicate regions with metabolized photoactive porphyrins yet to be fully activated by the application of the activation light band. Each standard dose of treatment light is 40Joules/cm2.

How the Polilight® PDT works

The images below are produced using the Polilight® PDT diagnostic UV-A and/or 415 (purple) bands, and photographed with an (off the shelf) digital camera mounted with a green (high pass) optical filter. The clinician is able to view the fluorescence images by wearing suitable filter goggles.

While these images show use of the Polilight® PDT for these 4 specific conditions (Actinic Keratosis, Bowen's Disease, Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma and Papilloma Warts), trials are continuing for other conditions. We welcome approaches from medical institutions who would like to conduct further trails – please contact our staff.
